HOW I LOST MY VIRGINITY AS A CHURCH GIRL: Episode 20
EPISODE 20: WHEN THE DEVIL KNOCKS
I swear, my heart stopped.
Vanessa stood in the doorway, her arms folded, her phone clutched tightly like a weapon.
David moved first. “Vanessa, what the hell—”
“Shut up, David,” she snapped, stepping inside and slamming the door behind her. “This is between me and your little church princess.”
I swallowed hard, my hands turning to ice.
“You really thought you could sneak behind my back, Adaeze?” she continued, her voice dripping with venom. “You thought I wouldn’t find out?”
I tried to keep my voice steady. “Vanessa, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
She let out a short laugh. “Oh, please. You’re in my man’s house, sitting on my man’s couch, acting like you don’t know what’s going on?”
I turned to David, expecting him to say something.
Anything.
But he was silent.
Coward.
“Vanessa, please,” he finally muttered. “Let’s not do this here.”
She turned to him, eyes flashing. “Shut up! You think I don’t know you’ve been lying to me? Leading me on while chasing after this innocent act?”
I clenched my fists. “I’m not chasing anyone!”
She smirked. “Oh? Then why are you here?”
My mouth opened, but no words came out.
I was trapped.
I needed to leave.
I grabbed my bag. “You know what? I’m done with this nonsense.”
As I tried to walk past her, she grabbed my wrist.
“Adaeze,” she whispered, her grip like iron. “You’re not going anywhere.”
David stepped forward. “Vanessa, stop it.”
She ignored him, her gaze locked onto mine.
“Let me tell you what’s about to happen,” she said. “You’re going to sit down, and we’re going to settle this like women. Or…”
She held up her phone.
“I press send.”
A cold wave of fear washed over me.
“Send what?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Her smile widened. “Ah. You don’t know?” She turned the phone towards me.
I gasped.
On the screen was a chat. A WhatsApp conversation.
Between me and David.
Messages I never sent.
Words that painted me like a desperate, begging girl. Like I was the one chasing him. Like I was the one throwing myself at him.
“I love you, David. Please don’t leave me.”
“Vanessa is nothing compared to me.”
“I’ll do anything to keep you.”
My head spun. “This is fake!”
She tilted her head. “Is it?”
David grabbed the phone. “Vanessa, what the hell is this?”
She snatched it back. “Insurance.”
My legs felt weak. “You want to frame me?”
She grinned. “Frame you? Oh no, dear. I’m just going to… expose you.”
She turned the phone again, this time to her WhatsApp.
The church WhatsApp group.
Pastor, deacons, church executives, everybody was in that group.
And her finger was hovering over the send button.
David looked panicked. “Vanessa, don’t do this!”
“Then she better sit down,” she said.
I stared at her. “What do you want?”
She smiled. “For you to know your place.”
The room was spinning.
I had two choices.
Fight… or fold.
David grabbed my hand. “Ada, let’s talk outside.”
Vanessa smirked. “If she walks out that door, I press send.”
Jesus.
My heart pounded. Sweat dripped down my back.
This girl wasn’t bluffing.
If that message dropped, my name would scatter. My reputation would burn.
Vanessa leaned in.
“You see, Adaeze, you might be a church girl, but in the real world? Girls like me always win.”
I clenched my teeth.
No.
Not this time.
I took a deep breath.
And then… I made my move.
