The Prodigal Daughter – Episode 11

Episode 11 – Desperate Measures

Sandra’s heart pounded wildly as Deborah tightened her grip and dragged her back toward the VIP section. The flashing lights, the pounding music, the laughing clubgoers—it all felt distant, like a blurry nightmare she couldn’t escape from.

She dug her heels into the ground, yanking her arm. “Deborah, let me go!” she hissed, her voice barely carrying over the noise.

Deborah barely looked back. “You don’t get it, do you? You’re in too deep already. Stop fighting and just do as you’re told.”

Sandra’s throat burned with unshed tears. How had things gotten this bad? Just weeks ago, she was at home, arguing with her mother about independence. Now she was being dragged into a situation she couldn’t fully understand.

Then, an idea flashed through her mind. It was risky, but it was the only way.

Just as they neared the VIP section, Sandra suddenly went limp, dropping all her weight to the ground. Deborah, caught off guard, lost her grip for a split second. That was all Sandra needed.

In one swift motion, she twisted free, pushing Deborah back with all her strength before bolting toward the exit.

“Somebody stop her!” Deborah shouted.

Sandra didn’t look back. She shoved past bodies, ignoring the startled shouts of clubgoers. The bouncer by the door turned in her direction, but before he could react, she ducked low and slipped past him, bursting into the night air.

Cold wind hit her face as she stumbled onto the street, her breath ragged. She didn’t stop. She couldn’t. She ran, her heels slapping against the pavement, her lungs burning with every step.

She didn’t know where she was going. All she knew was that she had to get far, far away.

But just as she thought she was safe, a black SUV screeched to a halt ahead of her, headlights blinding her. The door flew open.

And stepping out, calm as ever, was Mr. Leke.

Episode 12 – Nowhere to Run

Sandra’s breath came in short gasps as she stood frozen under the harsh glare of the SUV’s headlights. The night air felt colder now, sending chills down her spine. She had run with everything she had, but it seemed she had only run straight into another trap.

Mr. Leke stepped out of the vehicle slowly, his eyes calm, almost amused. He adjusted his cuffs, then took a step forward. “Sandra,” he called, his voice smooth but laced with authority. “Where exactly do you think you’re going?”

Sandra’s mind screamed at her to run, but her legs wouldn’t move. Her body was still shaking from the sprint, her lungs burning. She took an uneasy step backward, her eyes darting around for an escape. The street was dark, mostly empty except for a few cars in the distance. No one to help her. No one to even notice.

Deborah rushed out of the club behind her, her face tight with frustration. “Sandra, are you mad? What were you thinking?”

Sandra swallowed hard. “Deborah, please,” she pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. “I just want to go home.”

Mr. Leke chuckled. “Home?” He took another step forward. “Sandra, you are home. Or did you forget? You came here by choice.”

Tears burned behind Sandra’s eyes. “I didn’t know what I was getting into,” she whispered.

Mr. Leke sighed, shaking his head. “That’s not how this works, dear. You don’t get to walk away so easily.”

Her pulse pounded as she took another step back, but before she could react, the SUV’s back door opened, and two men stepped out. They were tall, broad-shouldered, and expressionless. One of them cracked his knuckles, while the other simply folded his arms.

Fear gripped Sandra’s chest like a vice. This was it. She was trapped.

Deborah stepped closer, her voice softer now. “Sandra, don’t make this worse for yourself. Just come back inside.”

Sandra shook her head, her body trembling. “I can’t.”

Mr. Leke tilted his head. “Then I guess we’ll have to help you.”

He nodded, and the two men moved forward.

Sandra turned sharply, her heart racing. She couldn’t let them take her. She had to do something—anything.

And then, out of nowhere, a car sped toward them, its tires screeching loudly as it came to a sudden stop right beside her.

A voice shouted from inside. “Sandra! Get in!”

Her eyes widened in shock.

It was someone she never expected to see.
