As the 2024 US general election comes closer in a few months, spiritual direction, guidance, and divine help from God has to be a priority in the lives of American citizens. During these times of social and political unrest, prayer that is backed with the word of God is very effective and can help you find comfort, hope, and direction as an individual and as a nation.

As the country gets ready for a very important general election in November, this article gives over ten strong prayer bible verses that you can pray over the United States of America.

Why It is Very Important to Pray Over America

Prayer is very important in shaping a nation’s future. People usually do it because they ask God to give them knowledge, direction, and safety over the land and its people. But, we as voters, have a serious duty to pray over America, recognizing that we can only count on God’s care and protection. These lines shine like lights, showing the way forward and stirring up passionate prayers for the country’s well-being.

Verse 1: 2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Verse 2: Psalm 33:12

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.”

Verse 3: Proverbs 14:34

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.”

Verse 4: Isaiah 41:10

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Verse 5: Jeremiah 29:7

“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Verse 6: Romans 13:1

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

Verse 7: 1 Timothy 2:1-2

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Verse 8: 1 Peter 2:17

“Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.”

Verse 9: Matthew 5:13-16 –

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Verse 10: Ephesians 6:12 –

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” – Psalm 91:1-2

Prayer for Divine Protection

Father God, as I start this new day, I lift up to you all my cares and concerns, knowing that you are my refuge and strength.

Lord, I ask for your divine protection and guidance over myself and my loved ones. Wrap your loving arms around us, shield us from harm, and guide us safely through the challenges that may arise.

I pray for open doors of opportunity, both seen and unseen. May your wisdom illuminate my path, and may I recognize the opportunities you place before me. Grant me the courage to step through those doors with faith and confidence.

Lord, I seek success, not solely for my own gain but for the greater good. May the work of my hands be a source of blessing to others and a reflection of your grace. Open doors for me to be a source of joy and encouragement to those I meet.

Fill my heart with your peace, your love, and your joy, so that I may radiate your presence to everyone I encounter today. May this day be a testament to your faithfulness and a step toward the purpose you have for my life. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

What does the Bible really say about women pastors in the new testament? https://gospello.com/everything-bible-verses/what-does-the-bible-really-say-about-women-pastors-in-the-new-testament/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=what-does-the-bible-really-say-about-women-pastors-in-the-new-testament https://gospello.com/everything-bible-verses/what-does-the-bible-really-say-about-women-pastors-in-the-new-testament/#comments Wed, 10 Apr 2024 01:05:03 +0000 https://gospello.com/?p=232 [...]]]> What does the Bible really say about women pastors in the new testament?

There may not be a more controversial topic in the church right now than women being pastors. So, it’s important not to see this as a fight between men and women. But there are men who think women can be pastors and that the Bible doesn’t put any limits on their ministry. And there are women who think women can be pastors and that the Bible doesn’t put any limits on their ministry. The reason for this is not racism or sexism. It has to do with how the Bible is interpreted.

“A woman should learn in silence and full submission,” says the Bible. “I don’t let a woman teach or be in charge of a man; she must be quiet” (1 Timothy 2:11–12). God gives men and women different jobs in the church. Because of how people were made and how sin came into the world, this is what happened (1 Timothy 2:13–14). Through the apostle Paul, God tells us that women are not allowed to teach or be spiritual leaders over men. This means that women can’t be preachers over men, since being a pastor means speaking, teaching in public, and having spiritual power.

This view of women in spiritual service is wrong in many ways. One popular one is that Paul doesn’t let women teach because, in the first century, most women didn’t go to school. But 1 Timothy 2:11–14 doesn’t say anything about school level. If schooling were a requirement for service, then most of Jesus’ friends would not have been able to do it. Another frequent argument is that Paul only told the women in Ephesus they couldn’t teach men (1 Timothy was written to Timothy, who was the leader of the church in Ephesus). It is thought that Paul was only responding against the female-led practices of the Ephesian idolaters because the church needed to be different. Ephesus was known for its temple to Artemis, and women were in charge of that branch of paganism. But the book of 1 Timothy doesn’t say anything about Artemis, and Paul doesn’t say that the rules in 1 Timothy 2:11–12 are because that’s what people who honor Artemis usually do.

Third, some say Paul is only talking about husbands and wives and not about men and women in general. If you look at 1 Timothy 2, the Greek words for “woman” and “man” could mean partners and wives, but they also mean more than that. Also, in lines 8–10, the same Greek words are used. Should only men pray with their hands raised in a holy way, without getting angry or arguing (verse 8)? What about wives? Should they only dress properly, do good things, and worship God (verses 9–10)? No, of course not. Eighth through tenth verses clearly talk about all men and women, not just mates and wives. In lines 11–14, there is nothing in the text that suggests that it is only about men and wives.

Another problem with this view of women in pastoral work comes from the fact that the Bible has examples of women in leadership roles, such as Miriam, Deborah, and Huldah in the Old Testament. And it’s true that God picked these women to do special things for Him. They are great examples of faith, courage, and yes, leadership. But the question of ministers in the church has nothing to do with the power of women in the Old Testament. The Epistles of the New Testament describe a new way of life for God’s people: the church, which is the body of Christ. This way of life includes a system of power that is only for the church and not for Israel or any other Old Testament group.

In the New Testament, Priscilla and Phoebe are used to make similar points. Priscilla and Aquila are shown to be faithful servants of Christ in Acts 18. Some people think that the fact that Priscilla’s name comes first in verse 18 means that she was more important in the mission than her husband. The specifics of whose name comes first probably don’t matter because the order is switched in verses 2 and 26 from verse 18. Do you think that Priscilla and her husband taught Apollos about the message of Jesus Christ? In fact, they “explained to him the way of God more adequately” in their home (Acts 18:26). Is it ever written in the Bible that Priscilla led a group of saints spiritually, taught in public, or pastored a church? No. As far as we know, Priscilla did not work in the church, which goes against what 1 Timothy 2:11–14 says.

In Romans 16:1, Paul calls Phoebe a “servant” or “deacon” in the church and says nice things about her. But, like with Priscilla, the Bible doesn’t say that Phoebe was a preacher or a teacher of men in the church. The word “able to teach” is used to describe leaders but not ministers (1 Timothy 3:1–13; Titus 1:6–9).

The way that 1 Timothy 2:11–14 is put together makes it very clear why women can’t be pastors. The word “for” starts verse 13, which gives the “reason” for what Paul said in lines 11–12. Why shouldn’t women teach or be in charge of men? Because “Adam came first, then Eve.” However, it wasn’t Adam who was fooled; it was the woman “(verses 13–14). A “helper” for Adam, God made Eve after Adam. Everyone can use the order of creation in their home (Ephesians 5:22–33) and in the church.

Someone else says that Eve’s fall is another reason why women shouldn’t be preachers or spiritual leaders over men (1 Timothy 2:14). It doesn’t mean that all women are more easily fooled than men or that women are stupid. If women are more likely to be fooled, then why are they allowed to teach children and other women? Because Eve was tricked, the text only says that women shouldn’t teach men or have spiritual power over men. God has decided that men should be the main teachers in the church.

There are a lot of women who are very good at being kind, welcoming, teaching, spreading the gospel, and helping others. A lot of the work that the neighborhood church does is done by women. According to 1 Corinthians 11:5, women in the church are not forbidden from praying or prophesying in public. They are only forbidden from teaching men spiritual things. There are no rules in the Bible that say women can’t use the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12). Both men and women are called to serve others, show the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23), and preach the word to those who don’t know it (Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8; 1 Peter 3:15).

Only men should be in charge of spiritual teaching in the church, according to God’s plan. This doesn’t mean that men are better teachers or that women are less smart or weak. It’s just how God planned for the church to work. Men should lead by example in their moral lives and in the things they say. In their own lives, women should also be examples, but in a different way (1 Peter 3:1–6). Titus 2:3–5 says that women should teach other women. The Bible also doesn’t say that women can’t teach kids. Teaching or being spiritually in charge of men are the only things women are not allowed to do. This means that women can’t be preachers to guys. In no way does this make women less important; instead, it gives them a mission goal that is more in line with how God made them.

The Bible contains numerous stories about individuals who demonstrated remarkable faith in God and His promises, pointing out the recurring theme of confidence.

I have a few interesting examples to share with you:

1. The story of David and Goliath from the Bible, found in 1 Samuel 17, is widely recognized as a powerful example of confidence. A young shepherd named David bravely confronted the mighty Goliath, showing unwavering faith in God as he stood before the Israelite army. He believed that God had the power to save him from any enemy, so he confidently declared that he would defeat Goliath.

2. In the story of Moses confronting Pharaoh (Exodus 5–14), Moses gained confidence as he went through various experiences with God, even though he was initially hesitant. He kept going up to the mighty Pharaoh of Egypt and insisted that the Israelites should be set free. He had confidence because he believed in God’s promises and guidance.

3. In the story of Daniel’s Trust in God’s Protection in the Lion’s Den (Daniel 6), Daniel showed his unwavering faith in God by continuing to pray, even though there was a law forbidding it. He believed that God would protect him, and his actions demonstrated that trust. A lion’s den was where he was thrown, but amazingly, he managed to survive because he had faith and trusted that God would come to his rescue.

4. In the book of Esther, we see a courageous act by the Jewish queen of Persia. Despite the dangers involved, she displayed remarkable confidence as she approached King Xerxes to advocate for her people. She believed in God’s plan and felt that He had placed her in this situation for a reason, which gave her a sense of triumph.

5. The apostle Paul demonstrated unwavering faith in his mission to spread the gospel through his courageous preaching, as mentioned in various epistles. He bravely preached the message of Christ, even in the face of hardships such as tribulations, imprisonments, and persecutions, because he had strong faith in the transformative power of the gospel.

6. In the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the Fiery Furnace (Daniel 3), these three men showed incredible bravery. Even though they were faced with the terrifying prospect of being thrown into a furnace, they stood their ground and refused to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar’s idol. They emerged from the fire unharmed, which is a testament to their strong faith and unwavering belief in God’s ability to save them.

7. In the story of the lady with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25–34), there was a woman who had been suffering from a bleeding condition. In the New Testament, there was a woman who had been suffering from a bleeding disorder for twelve years. Despite not being identified by name, she displayed remarkable faith in Jesus. She believed that if she could just touch His garment, she would be healed. She was able to make a remarkable recovery because she had strong faith and trusted in Jesus’ ability to help her.

How Many Chapters And Verses are in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation https://gospello.com/everything-bible-verses/how-many-chapters-and-verses-are-in-the-bible-from-genesis-to-revelation/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-many-chapters-and-verses-are-in-the-bible-from-genesis-to-revelation https://gospello.com/everything-bible-verses/how-many-chapters-and-verses-are-in-the-bible-from-genesis-to-revelation/#comments Tue, 19 Sep 2023 23:36:03 +0000 https://gospello.com/?p=87 [...]]]> How Many Chapters And Verses are in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

The chapter and verse divisions in the Bible are part of the paratext and were not originally included in the original texts of Judeo-Christian Bibles. Since the early 13th century, most copies and editions of the Bible have divided all the books, except the smallest ones, into chapters. Each chapter is usually one page or less in length. Since the mid-16th century, editors have divided each chapter into verses. A verse can consist of one or more sentences or just a few short lines. In the King James Version (KJV), the longest verse can be found in Esther 8:9, while the shortest verse is John 11:35. In Ephesians 2:8–9, sometimes a phrase can span across multiple verses, and the same goes for Genesis 1:2, where multiple sentences are included within a single verse.

The Jewish and Christian divisions of the Hebrew text have several notable differences. For instance, in established Christian practice, each Psalm ascription is considered separate and not numbered. This leads to Jewish versions having 116 more verses compared to Christian texts. In Jewish tradition, the ascriptions to many Psalms are seen as either independent verses or as parts of the following verses. Chapter divisions can also occur in different places. Here’s an example: In Hebrew Bibles, you can find 1 Chronicles 5:27–41, while Christian translations include 1 Chronicles 6:1–15.

You can compare the King James Version Bible with other Bibles.

Just to give you an example, the book of John has only fourteen verses in the King James Bible, New International Version Bible (NIV), and Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB). It’s important to mention that the New American Standard Bible (NASB), NET Bible, New Living Translation (NLT), and New Century Bible have an additional verse, verse 15. The number of words in each Bible can differ significantly. Below, you will find a link that provides the word count of the Greek New Testament.

Below is a chart that provides information about the chapters, verses, and words in the New American Standard Bible (NASB). Below, you will find a section where you can download the PDF versions of all the chapters and passages of the Bible. We have provided some suggested links for your convenience.

I strongly believe that this topic will be of immense importance not only for different spouses, but for every Christian who holds faith in eternal life in the presence of God and the heavenly beings.

The Holy Bible is an amazing and educative book that offers guidance on various aspects of life, including the reunion of husbands and wives in heaven.

In this article, we will explore “Bible Verses That Talk About Husband And Wife Reuniting In Heaven” and delve into the bible verses that provide insight into the eternal union of married partners beyond our earthly existence.

As you go through this article till the end, my humble prayer for you is that the peace of God fills your heart and soul, that healing will begin to take place and you will be perfected.

Losing a husband or wife is an incredibly painful and tragic experience. However, there is hope, especially for those who find solace in their faith in God. It is comforting to know that the separation may only be temporary because they will surely meet again in heaven. True love is able to transcend all boundaries, even death. So, what exactly does the Bible say about Husband And Wife Reuniting In Heaven?

Ok! where are the Bible Verses to support the husband and wife reunion in heaven?

Well, let’s find out together

19 “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife, but leaves no child, the man must take the widow and raise up offspring for his brother. 20 There were seven brothers; the first took a wife, and when he died left no offspring. 21 And the second took her, and died, leaving no offspring. And the third likewise. 22 And the seven left no offspring. Last of all the woman also died. 23 In the resurrection, when they rise again, whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife.”

Mark 12:19-23 (English Standard Version)

The subject of the reunion of a husband and wife in the afterlife has been a matter of great emotional and intellectual interest among people for a long time.

The inquiry of the enduring connection between marital partners is of such enduring significance that it prompted the Sadducees to pose this challenging topic to Jesus, as shown in the biblical passage above. Nevertheless, what was the answer of Jesus?

But, in this afterlife, there would be no marriage at all between man and woman as we know it today. But we will be like the angels. Sorry, but these aren’t my words but the Lord. Mark 12:25

So, are you telling me that I won’t be reunited with my husband or wife in heaven again?

Compared to the statement provided, it is evident that the Holy Bible supports the idea of collective unity in the divine presence of God.

This implies that if an individual’s spouse attains heavenly existence and the individual themselves also achieves heavenly existence, they will be reunited with their spouse in paradise. However, it should be noted that this reunion will not occur in the same marital context as experienced on Earth.

With that being said, presented below are some scriptural references that provide support for the concept of the reunion of beloved individuals in the realm of heaven:

In light of his demise, what is the rationale for my observance of fasting (i.e., mourning)? The user’s text does not provide any information to be rewritten academically. I want to approach him, but he will not reciprocate by coming back to me. The biblical passage referenced is 2 Samuel 12:23.

Moreover, a significant number of individuals get solace from the notion that their romantic narrative will persist beyond their mortal existence, affording them the opportunity to reunite with their significant other.

From a certain perspective, it might be argued that this assertion lacks validity since the concept of marriage does not extend beyond the realm of heaven.

From a different perspective, it is possible to maintain a sense of optimism as we anticipate a future reunion with our departed family members and loved ones in the realm of paradise, where we shall coexist eternally.

Furthermore, God has elevated us collectively and positioned us to be seated together in celestial realms via our union with Christ Jesus. The biblical passage referenced is Ephesians 2:6.

Without any further delay, let us now explore the scriptural references pertaining to the reunion of husbands and wives in the realm of heaven.

Husband and Wife Reunited in Heaven Bible Verse

There are strong texts in the Bible that don’t support the idea that husbands and wives might meet again in the future. But Matthew 22:30 gives comfort by saying that when people are resurrected, they won’t get married or be joined in marriage. Instead, they will be like the angels in heaven.

The text we’re looking at suggests a different kind of company, but 1 Thessalonians 4:17 gives us hope that we’ll see our loved ones again in the presence of God in the future. The above words have a lot of symbolism that points to the deep and important relationship that people will have with their partners for all of life.
