HOW I LOST MY VIRGINITY AS A CHURCH GIRL: Episode 3

A high school age girl is holding the Bible and is reading it with her fellow classmates during a Bible study.

EPISODE 3: THE FIRST TEMPTATION
The next evening, I stood in front of the mirror, staring at myself.

“Adaeze, are you really going?”

I was dressed in my normal, simple outfit—long skirt, plain top. But for the first time, I felt self-conscious. Would David think I looked too “churchy”?

I shook my head. I’m not dressing to impress him. It’s just a normal hangout.

But as I turned to pick my bag, my phone vibrated. A message from my mother.

Mummy: Ada, I had a bad dream about you. Hope you are praying?

I froze.

A bad dream? About me?

I sat on my bed, staring at the message. Was this a sign? Was God trying to stop me?

A small voice whispered, Cancel. Tell David you’re not coming.

But before I could think too much, another message popped up.

David: I’m already outside your hostel 😉. No dulling.

My heart skipped. He was already here?!

I quickly grabbed my bag and left before I could change my mind.

David was leaning against his car when I stepped out. His white T-shirt hugged his chest, his jeans sitting perfectly on his waist.

“Pastor’s daughter, you finally showed up,” he teased, opening the passenger door.

“I told you I would,” I said, trying to sound confident.

As we drove off, I kept glancing at him. He smelled good—too good. And every time he smiled, I felt something strange in my stomach.

“Relax, Ada,” he chuckled, catching me staring. “I won’t bite.”

I quickly looked away, embarrassed.

We arrived at a small lounge, not too noisy, not too quiet. He ordered a drink for himself, but I refused.

“I don’t take alcohol,” I said.

“Nobody said you should,” he smiled, handing me a bottle of malt.

We talked. About school, life, even church. David was funny, smooth, and knew exactly what to say.

But then, something happened.

After about an hour, he suddenly leaned forward, looking into my eyes.

“Ada, I like you.”

I blinked. What?!

“W-what do you mean?” I stammered.

“I mean, I like you. You’re different. Innocent. Pure.” His voice was soft, his eyes serious. “I don’t know why, but I can’t stop thinking about you.”

My heart pounded. This was dangerous. Very dangerous.

“David… we can’t… I mean, I don’t do relationships.”

“Who said anything about a relationship?” he smirked, his eyes holding something else. Something I couldn’t yet understand.

At that moment, my phone rang.

I quickly grabbed it—my father was calling.

My heart stopped.

Did he know where I was?

Did my mother tell him about the dream?

I swallowed hard and pressed decline.

Biggest mistake of my life.

David smiled. “Ignore it. You’re safe with me.”

And just like that, I let my guard down.

I didn’t know it was only the beginning.
