HOW I LOST MY VIRGINITY AS A CHURCH GIRL
A story by Bigbanky
EPISODE 5: A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
I should have turned back.
I should have told David no.
But as I sat in his car, watching the streetlights blur past, something inside me refused to feel guilty.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“Relax,” David said, flashing that lazy smile. “Just somewhere quiet.”
Somewhere quiet. Dangerous words.
I swallowed hard but said nothing. I told myself I could handle it. I was in control.
Or so I thought.
We arrived at a small apartment, far from the school gate. It wasn’t too fancy, but it was neat. A single bed, a shelf full of books, and a table with a laptop.
“You stay alone?” I asked.
“Yeah,” he said, dropping his keys on the table. “No noisy roommates, no stress.”
I hesitated. My heart was already beating fast.
“Sit,” he said, patting the bed.
I sat at the edge. Careful. Ready to run if necessary.
He chuckled. “Ada, relax. I don’t bite.”
He sat beside me, not too close, not too far. Then he picked up his phone and played a song—soft, slow R&B.
It started happening.
The air changed.
The room felt smaller.
His perfume mixed with the scent of my body spray.
I could feel his presence, his warmth.
“You’re tense,” he said, looking at me.
“I’m fine,” I lied.
He reached out and touched my hand—just a light touch, but my body reacted.
I should have stood up. I should have left.
But I didn’t.
Meanwhile, trouble was already waiting for me.
In the hostel, Brother Samuel was on fire.
“I told you people!” he was shouting in the fellowship group chat. “Sister Adaeze is falling! I saw her entering a car with a man! A man!”
The messages poured in.
Sister Blessing: Are you sure?
Brother Chinedu: Ah, it’s like this girl is backsliding o.
Brother Samuel: We need to report to Pastor!
Report to Pastor?!
If this got to my father, I was finished.
But at that moment, I had no idea what was happening. I was in David’s room, making the biggest mistake of my life.
“Ada,” David’s voice pulled me back.
I looked at him. His eyes were serious now, no jokes.
“Tell me to stop, and I will,” he whispered.
I opened my mouth, but no words came out.
He moved closer, slow and careful. I could feel his breath on my skin.
“Tell me to stop, Adaeze,” he said again.
I couldn’t.
Or maybe… I didn’t want to.
He reached for my face, his fingers brushing against my cheek. My whole body shivered.
And then—
A loud knock on the door.
BANG! BANG!! BANG!!!
“David! Open this door now!”
My blood ran cold.
David sighed, frustrated. “Who the hell is that?”
The banging continued.
“David, I know you’re inside! Open this door now before I break it!”
I jumped up from the bed, my hands shaking.
“Who is that?” I whispered.
David clenched his jaw. His whole mood had changed.
“It’s my ex,” he said.
EX?!
My heart nearly stopped.
“What is she doing here?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
“Causing trouble, as usual,” he muttered, running his hands through his hair.
The banging continued.
“David, I swear, if you don’t open this door—!”
I grabbed my bag. My legs were already shaking.
I needed to get out of here.
Now.
