The Prodigal Daughter – Episode 5
Episode 5 – Nowhere to Run
Sandra’s pulse quickened. Mr. Leke’s words echoed in her head—Just be mine.
She forced a small laugh, trying to mask her discomfort. “I… I think I need some air.”
She turned to stand up, but Mr. Leke’s hand pressed firmly on her thigh, stopping her. His grip was gentle, but there was an unspoken warning in his touch. “Relax, Sandra,” he said smoothly. “No need to be shy.”
Sandra’s stomach twisted. She darted a glance at Deborah, hoping—praying—that her friend would step in. But Deborah only sipped her drink, her eyes dancing with amusement.
“Deborah,” Sandra’s voice wavered, “let’s go home.”
Deborah rolled her eyes. “Home? Babe, the night just started.”
Sandra swallowed hard. Something wasn’t right. The music pounded in the background, but she could barely hear it over the sound of her own heartbeat. She tried to stand up again, but Mr. Leke’s grip tightened.
“You’re making me look bad, Sandra,” he said, his voice still calm but laced with something darker. “Deborah told me you were different. That you wanted to enjoy life.”
Sandra’s breath hitched. Deborah told him? A sick feeling settled in her stomach. This wasn’t just a random encounter. Deborah had planned this.
She suddenly realized how far she had fallen from home. From safety. From everything she once knew.
But she wasn’t going to let this happen. Not without a fight.
Summoning courage, she forced a bright smile. “I just need the bathroom,” she said quickly. “I’ll be right back.”
Mr. Leke studied her for a moment, then released her thigh. “Hurry back.”
Sandra didn’t wait. She stood up and walked briskly towards the restroom, her mind racing. As soon as she was out of their sight, she quickened her steps, heading straight for the exit.
She needed to leave. Now.
But just as she reached the door, a firm hand grabbed her wrist.
She turned, her heart dropping.
It was Deborah. And she was smiling.
“Where do you think you’re going, babe?”
Sandra’s stomach twisted into knots. She wasn’t just trapped in this club.
She was trapped in a life she never saw coming.
