How Reading the Bible Changed a Life Forever.
One of the popular American Preacher and poet, Jackie Hill Perry shared a touching on her Facebook page of how the word of God changed a life totally.
I’ve got a powerful story to share with you today that’ll make you rethink the way you see God’s Word. So, last year, I had the incredible opportunity to record the entire Bible in partnership with @crosswaybooks. Now, doing this in a studio meant I had an engineer there to make sure everything sounded good and clear. But little did I know, God had a bigger plan in mind.
You see, each session before we started, I’d pray that God would use His Word to touch the heart of my engineer. And man, did He ever! This dude worked alongside me through the major and minor prophets, and let me tell you, those books ain’t always the easiest to understand. But I kept praying, hoping God would grant him understanding.
Fast forward to when I was recording Genesis, and my engineer dropped a bombshell on me. He said something like, “It’s like they keep doing the same thing over and over again. Like they don’t get it.” And you know what? He summed up the entire Old Testament right there!
But here’s where it gets crazy. Just the other day, my guy @scooter3k comes up to me after church and tells me that while I was reading Genesis, the Lord used His Word to draw him in. Now he’s a believer, part of a local church, and even an evangelist. Can you believe that?!
I was floored, fam. In that studio, I wasn’t preaching a sermon or giving a fancy exegetical breakdown. All I was doing was reading God’s Word, and that alone brought my guy from death to life.
So here’s the takeaway: God doesn’t need all the theatrics to save souls. If you just give people His Word, you’ll be amazed at what He can do!
So let’s keep spreading the Word people of God. You never know whose life might be changed forever by the simple act of reading Scripture.
