Biography of Mark Driscoll

Pastor Mark Driscoll is a Jesus-follower, missionary leader, church-servant, people-lover and also a Bible-preaching pastor. In 2010, Preaching magazine named him one of the 25 most influential pastors of the past 25 years. He’s grateful to be a nobody trying to tell everybody about Somebody.

Born in North Dakota, Mark Driscoll grew up the son of a union dry-waller in south Seattle. After graduating from high school, he attended Washington State University on scholarship. He became a Christian during his freshman year and graduated from WSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication. He later completed a Master’s degree in Exegetical Theology from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.

Most importantly, Pastor Mark is a family man. In 1988, when Pastor Mark was a 17-year-old high school student, a young woman named Grace gave him a nice Bible. Mark, a non-practicing Catholic at the time, was born again reading that Bible in college. He and Grace were married at the age of 21, graduated at 22, and by 25 were planting a church in the living room of their home while they both worked full time jobs. At the age of 26 they welcomed their first child, Ashley, and today they have three sons and two daughters, all of whom are walking with Jesus and helped plant The Trinity Church as a family ministry.

Mark Driscoll Wife (Marriage) GRACE DRISCOLL

She lives her life like she talks about Jesus all the time. Grace has loved God’s Word and shared the hope of the gospel with others since she was the child of a preacher. One person she shared the gospel with in high school was Mark Driscoll, who didn’t know Jesus from a hole in the ground. They’ve been together since she gave him a Bible. After getting married and having five kids, their mission is doing great, and Jesus gets all the praise!

At Washington State University, Grace got her B.A. in Communications, which she has used in talks on The View, Fox and Friends, and Loveline. She was born and raised in Seattle. She is in charge of Real Women, the women’s ministry at Trinity Church, which she helped start with Mark and her kids. She has also written two books with him: Real Marriage and Win Your War.

Grace loves helping women learn more about God’s Word and how to live by it. She thanks God every day for the path he has put her on, and she can’t wait to see what comes next.
